A slow Saturday in the Ropewalk Quarter
Market coffee, a walk along the wharf and an afternoon in the open studios: how we’d spend a weekend in the quarter, from people who sell homes there.

Elliot Marsh
Senior Advisor, Residential

Ropewalk Quarter is at its best on a Saturday. The market sets up early under the old crane, the towpath fills with runners and dogs, and the yards behind Tanner Street open their doors.
Morning
Start with coffee from one of the roasters along the wharf and a slow lap of the market. Arrive early for bread; it tends to sell out.
Afternoon
Walk the river path to the old swing bridge, then come back through the yards, where the joinery collective and the print studio often open to visitors.
Evening
Eat by the water if the weather allows. The quarter is quieter after dark than you might expect, which is part of why people choose to live here.
