Neighbourhood guide
Hollin Vale
Stone villages and river meadows within reach of the city.
Hollin Vale follows the river out into open country: stone villages, water meadows and farmsteads, many of them quietly converted into homes.

Living here
Life in the Vale is rural without being remote. The villages keep their pubs and shops, footpaths link one to the next, and the river is never far away.
Barns, mills and cottages
Homes here are often conversions: threshing barns, mill houses and farm cottages. They make wonderful homes, but they need a survey that understands old structures and modern insulation.
Room to grow
Larger plots mean gardens, paddocks and outbuildings. Several homes come with workshops or studios, which makes the Vale a good fit for people who work from home.

Getting around
A car is useful in the Vale. A rural bus links the villages to the city; check current timetables before relying on it.
